The Hayward Family
Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Somerset East, South Africa, our Ranch is more than just a hunting farm—it is the realization of a dream and a celebration of our deep love for the land. As a family-run farm, we, Ian, Marlene, Maxine, and Michael, have dedicated our lives to preserving the natural beauty and wildlife of this extraordinary place.
Inspired by the spirit of “I Dreamed of Africa,” we have built our Ranch as a sanctuary where conservation and ethical hunting go hand in hand. Our passion for the land and its wildlife drives us to maintain a sustainable balance, ensuring future generations can experience the same untouched beauty we cherish today.
Whether you visit us for the thrill of the hunt, to embrace nature’s tranquility, or to share in the camaraderie of the outdoors, our Ranch is more than a destination—it’s our family legacy, and we welcome you to be a part of it.
Your Host: Michael Hayward
Born in Port Elizabeth and lives on the Ranch, Michael Hayward has been deeply connected to the land and its wildlife from an early age. After matriculating from Grey High School, he further pursued his passion for conservation and ethical hunting by completing the Gameway's Program in Limpopo, which included intensive training in anti-poaching and wildlife conservation.
Michael has experience in the game capture and transport industry, gaining hands-on experience in wildlife management, and also operates as a freelance Professional Hunter in the Eastern Cape.
